MAKE YOUR OUT OF STATE MOVE LESS STRESSFUL WITH THESE TIPS
5 TIPS FOR BUYING A HOME IN ANOTHER STATE
Buying a homecan be a long and sometimes stressful process. Buying a home in another state, if you are uncertain of the process, can be even more so. However, if you know the steps, you can simplify the process and help alleviate, perhaps even eliminate, the stress of buying a home out of state. If you are relocating to Prince George or Anne Arundel County, you may like to know that many of our agents in theEXIT First Realtybrokerage are longtime residents of theBowieCroftonareas and will be an asset in advising you about local information and resources. This is the community we live in, work in, and love.
Here are 5 tips to help you:
Know your timeline and plan accordingly. Your realtor can help you with your timeline but there are a few things you need to know, such as when you plan to move, when you’ll be able to make trips to view potentialhomes, and how much time you need to sell your current home. Knowing these things and planning for them will save you time, money and stress later.
Hold off on large purchases. If you intend to buy a new car or buy furniture for your new house, wait until after you have closed. Big financial changes can affect your ability to obtain a mortgage.
Get pre-qualified for a mortgage. Typically this can be done online and while it may not be as easy as getting a loan in your home state, lenders are generally understanding if you provide them with a reason for your move.
Do lots of research. When looking for homes in another state you are at a disadvantage since you don’t know the bestneighborhoods. However, you can obtain lots of helpful information online. The right buyer’s agent can also help you with this step.
Tour prospective homes online. Fortunately, many online listings include virtual tours that show you details still pictures cannot capture. When working with your buyer’s agent, ask to be shown listings that have virtual tours. This is particularly helpful if you are not able to travel and view homes in person.

" Wow, what a great job you and your team did for my wife and I in the selling of our home. It is nice to know that polite, courteous customer service does exist. We were very impressed with the follow though from everyone on your team that worked with us. I know these ladies are very busy but they were never too busy to stop and answer questions or help in any way. They do a great job, you should be proud of them. Your professionalism prior to the sale as well as all of your correspondence during and after the sale was very helpful during this stressful time. I will certainly recommend your team every chance we get. May God richly bless you and your Team. Thanks for all you did for my family and me.
